FHM Bielefeld University organised a virtual webinar for educators

On September 11, 2024, the private, state-recognized Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM, Campus Bielefeld, Germany) organised a virtual webinar “Challenge-Based Learning with Virtual Assistants” for educators interested in creating and implementing innovative, practical, and digital learning scenarios. FHM University experts shared their practical experience in designing and integrating challenge-based learning scenarios and virtual assistants into teaching practices.

Challenge-based learning (CBL) is grounded in experiential learning and integrates real-life situations into the educational process, motivating learners to devise and implement practical solutions to work-related challenges. This pedagogical approach holds significant potential to enhance collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. By fostering a collaborative and practice-oriented learning environment, CBL can greatly enrich educational experiences across various institutions, including schools, vocational training centers, and higher education institutions. Virtual mentors, such as chatbots, can guide students through challenge-based learning scenarios and serve as personal learning assistants.
