Monitoring of Erasmus+ project NICoPA


From 9 to 13 November, 2020, the National Erasmus+ Office in Turkmenistan organized monitoring institutional visits to the Erasmus + NICoPA (New and Innovative Courses for Precision Agriculture) project team.

The goal of the NICoPA project is modernization of educational programs and modules in the field of Precision Agriculture using new GIS technologies (geographic information systems), a large database on agriculture, remote sensing. The educational programs have been updated by partners in accordance with the needs of higher education, principles of the Bologna Process, new achievements in agronomy and the labor market needs.

The knowledge gained from theoretical and practical courses will be benefit to solve urgent problems of agriculture, for example, creation of "smart" agricultural systems, integrated monitoring of territories based on artificial satellite data and determination of land fertility analysis using remote sensor technologies.

The project consortium consists of 16 partners and 4 associate partners. The project participants from the Turkmen partner universities: the Turkmen Agricultural University (Local coordinator), the Turkmen Agricultural Institute (Dashoguz) and the Turkmen Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The project implementation is scheduled for the 2018-2021 period.

The NEO assessed the progress of the project according to the following parameters:

The current results of the project are generally positive.
