International Horse Breeding Academy has been established in Ashgabat

On October 10-12, 2023 NEO Coordinator Ayna Chorekliyeva took part in the International Conference and International Exhibition “Health Care, Education and Sports” organised by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan. The Ministry of Education invited the NEO Coordinator to visit Aba Annayev International Horse Breeding Academy and take part in the Conference sectional meetings.

Addressing the audience, A. Chorekliyeva invited teachers and students to join in Erasmus+ Programme and familiarised them with opportunities and participation requirements, the possibilities of academic exchange, and other relevant Programme features.

The Academy was opened on September 1, 2023. It is the first equestrian academy in Central Asia, has the faculties of horse breeding, equestrian veterinary, equestrian sports, tourism, economy in agriculture, and national equestrian games.

As news media reports, the International Horse Breeding Academy has been established for maintaining thoroughbred Ahal-teke horses. The Academy is intended to strengthen national capacity in horse breeding on the basis of rich national traditions, technological innovations and research, training of qualified specialists and efficient use of their intellectual potential for the development and preservation of the Ahal-teke breed as a unique world culture phenomenon.
